NOLA Girl & The Cowboy

Once upon a time there was this Happy Go Lucky NOLA girl with two little prince's, she met a Cowboy from Missouri and fell in love. For 7 years they were happy, happy, happy in their tiny little 900 sq. ft. Fixer Upper New Orleans Bungalow, with all their friends & family around...then the Big Ol' Bad Katrina came and the happy little family relocated with the Cowboy's company to New Jersey.

New Jersey was like the CA highways compared to New Orleans, the little family felt like they were being run over, but finally found a nice house, 1500 sq. ft. fixer upper, bigger than their 1st, in a quiet family neighborhood, way out in the boonies (so their new friends said...LOL). The whole family made great new lifelong friends and spent 5 years fixing up the new house. Then the Cowboy got transferred again, this time with a promotion...YAY Cowboy!!!

This time the little family relocated to New Hampshire, Thanksgiving 2010.
They bought this great big contemporary fixer upper on 3 acres of land, in an itty bitty town, out in the middle of nowhere, that hadn't been lived in for 2 years! NOLA Girl had looked at this house online for a couple of months before they were even assigned a Realtor, just wondering WHY is this great house on "clearance"? Cowboy was NOT crazy about the Big Green Monster as they & all their new friends like to call it now. They looked at tons of houses and just kept coming back to this one...they prayed & prayed about which house was supposed to theirs, they asked for the "right" one for their little family...so Cowboy bought the house for NOLA Girl that she was totally in LOVE with...of course she was the ONLY one who could see in her head that it was going to be BEAUTIFUL when they finished fixing it up...LOL!!!

So...bringing us to the present...there was this CRAZY winter, more snow than I've ever seen in my whole life and I learned what Roof Raking was and became a pro at snow blowing! I am officially a "Mountain Woman"... LOL!!! Since winter was so brutal, we really didn't get much work done, we had to wait until we thawed out, Spring & Summer have been B-U-S-Y!!! We decided this year since there is just SO MUCH to be done, we would just cut down, throw away, recycle or let it go and just see what we had, buying nothing new really and only fixing what had to be fixed, repairs or replaced for time being. I'd like to share all of our adventures in renovating our new home, our dream home!

Stay tuned for the story of ... "The Swamp"

Thanks for hanging out with me and see ya'll in a bit...
